more experimenting!

so, some watercolors come in the mail and so I tried them out even though I  don't know how to paint

meet Panwa. "Pan" as a short version of 'panda' or the japanese/korean word for bread. and "wa" for the nickname and sound red pandas make. This fellow's based on some 2009 sketches I found

the rest of these pictures.. aren't important enough to have a description :)

2011 image dump: part 2

Also, yes. I realize I need to draw less animals and animal-people.

have some pokemon I did last summer that I forgot to scan until now

this was spawned from reading one of the "lesson" sections to "Animated Performance" by Nancy Beiman

A picture I did for Henrieke and Karpour

two quick commissions I did for some guys

and that's the end of the stuff from 2010. onto 2011!

these were done in Colorado around Christmas and on the plane on my way back home.

at this point, I'm tired of writing descriptions for these pictures

First Image Dump of 2011: part 1

Must almost all of my blog posts start of with an apology that I haven't been around? I guess so, haha.
Anyway, the cause for this, this time, was just an emotional rut after NPD. I guess seeing complete disinterest from one of the schools surprised me more than I thought- but I'll keep trying.

A commission I did for a friend of mine.

Just 'recently' I saw a movie called "Night on the Milkyway Railroad", and I wanted to try and capture the feelings of the two characters in my own way.

I've also been playing a little more TF2 (Team Fortress 2) these past months, so these are some sprays I made for a couple of my friends and myself.

11-10-10

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while
I'm just going job and college searching. and getting majorly stressed at the portfolio process, since I decided to look at other people's art- I just do not have enough figure drawing, this absolutely will not do.
It may be a longshot, and it doesn't hurt to try (I hope!)- but I'm applying to Calarts and CCA. (Cali-based schools because my family's moving there).
Do any of you in blogspot land have any critiques to share? I would absoluutely appreciate it.

In the mean time, here's some art:

About a year ago, I made a cat-like creature, gave him small bat wings, and named him Catbat. When it was getting closer to Halloween, I wanted to make a themed picture to go with the season; so, I remembered this character I made and thought he'd fit well. Unfortunately, I drew the full picture at a size that made it uncomfortable for me to shade digitally.

Pages from my moleskine:

remember that broken-down sketch of that fox from a while ago? I found this on my harddrive half-inked, so I finished the inked part.

and, two dragons are fan art- I'm feeling a little ashamed that I do fan art so much.
